Young Adult Formation

  • The Well: a hybrid young adult community in the Diocese of Iowa which meets online through Facebook and monthly video check-ins as well as in person at regional gatherings. There are currently 80 members of The Well, who live all over the state of Iowa as well as beyond (in places as far as California, Massachusetts, South Africa, the UK, and Beijing!) The Well is an intentional Christian community, meaning we hold one another in prayer and concern on a daily basis. It is an opportunity for young adults, regardless of whether they attend church on Sunday morning, to feel connected to a faith community. To join The Well, contact Lydia Bucklin at lbucklin@iowaepiscopal.org.

  • Breaking Bread: a young adult ministry that meets monthly at a local brewery. It is an opportunity to be church in the world and to connect with the sacred in a secular location. Breaking Bread welcomes all and is a safe place to share our faith and beliefs. We gather around food and drink for conversation, music and worship.

  • Young Adult Office of The Episcopal Church: The Office of Young Adult and Campus Ministries supports ministries of, to, and with young adults (ages 18-30) both on and off college campuses through the communities, resources and networks of the Episcopal Church.

  • Episcopal Service Corps: invites young adults to explore their vocation by carrying out a volunteer position within a partnering social service agency, school, or church.

  • Society of Campus Ministers: Campus Ministers, lay and ordained, working with Episcopal campus ministries and ecumenical campus ministries that include Episcopalians.

  • Young Adult Service Corps: offers one-year mission assignments that allow young adults to explore their faith journey while bringing them into the life of the worldwide Anglican Communion and the daily work of a local community.

  • Exploring the Bible: free curriculum for churches and groups by Forward Movement. 26 sessions, available for all age groups, that "uncovers the vast, sweeping story of God's extraordinary love for ordinary people, in a clear and easy-to-follow format.
